Anambra fire chief allegedly brutalized by police

The director, Anambra State fire service, an award winning fire fighter, Martin Agbili was allegedly  severely harassed and beaten by police officers stationed at Amawbia CPS police check point on Friday night.

His distraught wife who alleged that she watched helplessly with her the children while the head of the family was severely brutalized cried throughout a video she made capturing the whole incident, exclusively obtained by BoldNaija.

In a post on her Facebook wall, she gave an account of what transpired calling for justice.

She lamented that the same man who left her in bed most nights to attend to fire disasters and save other people was being dehumanized by the same police force that’s meant to protect the citizenry.

Police people nearly killed my husband Anambra state fire chief this nightooooo. They nearly killed him before me n our children. This happened at Amawbia police command post. Inspector Peter Samuel caused the whole thing by refusing my husband to pass while they allowed their own officer pass. While arguing they all gathered him both those in uniform n morfties n started beating him.
My husband called Dcp. On his arrival him n his men joind the other police men. He supported his men. This is an abominationooooooo. We ar no longer safeoooo. Police is nobodies friend. They are all the same. These are the people dat always call my husband whenever there is emergency irrespective of the hour . But today they have shown dat dey ar Wolf’s in 🐑 sheep’s clothing.
